Byron is an innovative finance and accounting professional with extensive experience optimizing systems and establishing processes to increase revenue, decrease cost and optimize working capital. Byron has excelled in developing inventive, expedient and precise business intelligence for multiple acute and post-acute healthcare companies across the country, especially in his native New Mexico and adopted home state of Colorado.
He developed his healthcare career working for University of New Mexico Hospitals and Lovelace Health System in Albuquerque, NM. Byron then joined Hospital Partners of America in North Carolina as Corporate Director of Financial Systems for the #2 company on the Inc. 500 list. After many years in acute hospital organizations, Byron joined Acuity Healthcare as Regional CFO over two large LTAC and SNF hospitals in Phoenix, AZ, where he continued to excel in financial and operational leadership for his hospitals, corporate-wide initiatives and interim CFO for two Texas facilities. In Colorado he improved the financial performance of UHS of Centennial Peaks Hospital in Colorado by realizing creative cost reduction measures, automation of financial processes and business office procedural innovation.
Byron has identified and evaluated countless product lines, expansion opportunities and organizational restructuring for over twenty years. Before joining Acadia, Byron lent his expertise to an FBI investigation of a charter school in Arizona. He then guided an Austin, TX surgical organization through chapter 11 restructuring and returned to Colorado as Controller at HCA HealthONE Aurora over acute care, surgical, rehabilitation and behavioral facilities.
